Previous Item: A Sacramento Lutheran Television News Brief Next Item: Sacramento Conference Assembly Election Results Invitation to join Interfaith Service BureauPosted: Tuesday, September 28, 2004 |
This communication concerns active membership and a yearly membership contributions to Interfaith Service Bureau.
I have been actively involved since my arrival in 1975. I am a Board member and have just completed being a vice president. I have served several terms as president.
There has not been an active membership emphasis for years. So we are attending to this issue. All congregations are being invited to join. Please communicate your congregations desire to be a 04/05 member or a 2005 member. Membership fees are voluntarily. A rough guide is $1. per active unit. That would be a $1. per couple or family. A $1 per active single. You decide on the amount for retired or those on limited resources. The main thing is your membership and whatever you contribute.
Email me (LloydDonna@aol.com) or telephone me ((916) 452-6247) of your decision. If needed, I am willing to meet with your official decision making group.
Those of you in Davis and Woodland are exempt.
ISB was organized in 1972 into Interfaith. Before it was the Sacramento Council of Churches. Many of our Conference Congregations have a long historic relationship.
Since 9/11 I believe through local relationships with Jews, Muslims, Sikhs, and Buddhists we can indeed assist in influencing those prone to terrorism to be much more moderate. I am ready to admit religious intolerance has and continues to contribute to wars.
Persons you have opportunity to meet and with whom to establish friendships at ISB have contacts abroad. We will not bring an end to war but we can learn important information about the Sacramento Interfaith community.
ISB owns the building at 2212 K ST. and is the parent to the Religious Coalition on Cable TV, Cable TV Channel 19 . Our "Lutherans Alive" TV programs are produced and aired from that location.
