Lutherans ALIVE! has just premiered its first show of season two, which aired September 11. The complete schedule can be found at our web site, http://SLTV.org/. The show airs every Saturday night at 8 PM on RCCTV Channel 19, Sacramento Comcast system. Several new features are being added to show this year, and we are looking forward to our second round of taping this Thursday, with Bishop David Mullen as one of our guests. We're always looking for new talent and interesting folks to highlight, so please let us know!
For those who are unable to view the show, Sacramento Lutheran Television is able to procure tapes of individual shows after the initial airing, for the cost of $10 each. Please e-mail tapes@SLTV.org to order. We encourage you to show the tapes in your congregation, to distribute them as desired, and you're freely allowed to make copies.
Lutherans ALIVE! also invites viewers to contact our prayer line during each show for prayer and copies of our weekly devotion. This prayer line is housed at Lutheran Church of the Master and requires weekly volunteers to handle any phone calls that might come in during the show. If any member of your congregation would like to participate in this meaningful ministry, please contact us (TV@SLTV.org) for additional information. We also encourage your own prayers for this very special outreach ministry.
Funding has been procured to keep the show on through through the first nine episodes of the season, through the generous efforts of Sacramento-area congregations, individuals and the Lutheran Development Society of Sacramento. If your congregation has not yet contributed to support the show this year, we'd really appreciate your donations. Production costs are approximately $250 per episode, and 26 original episodes are produced each season. Any amount can help. Please consider this important ministry, and perhaps consider gathering a special offering of support during the next month. All congregational contributions are acknowledged in the show (a very effective outreach!), and individual contributions are acknowledged on our web site. Donations are tax-deductible and may be sent to "Sacramento Lutheran Television," 708 Lake Front Drive, Sacramento, CA 95831 .
Watch for information soon on our big live event, featuring musical acts that have appeared on Lutherans ALIVE! It's tentatively scheduled for the afternoon of Sunday, November 28. Mark your calendars!
