The pioneer of Protestantism comes alive this fall in 'Luther,' a drama ripe with twists, turns, romance, spectacle and, yes, even theological debate. Initiated by Thrivent Financial for Lutherans and starring Joseph Fiennes and Peter Ustinov, this major motion picture about a man who changed the world will hit theaters nationwide Sept. 26.

Television is also providing good entertainent value this weekend with the fourth installment of "Lutherans ALIVE!." Tune in at 8:00 PM, RCCTV channel 19 (Sacramento Comcast and Surewest Broadband systems only). This week's guests are Ruth Gilmore and Alex Ingulsrud, mother and son puppeteers and writer of a series of children's sermons published by Augsburg Fortress. Dixie Schneider hosts this Sacramento Lutheran Television production.
