Report of the Conference Communicator - Spring 2003 Assembly

The Sacramento Conference is relying increasingly on e-mail to provide its communications services. In addition to saving money, it has the potential to reach a larger audience, and can be quicker in getting important information out. It is vital to the Conference that each congregation have an identified e-mail address. If an individual congregation does not have e-mail, there is very likely someone in the congregation who would be willing to accept messages on their behalf.

As of this time, these congregations have no e-mail contact identified:

Atonement
Bethel Roseville
Bethel Sacramento
Grace
St. Paul

Can you help us? Contact Communicator@SacramentoConferenceELCA.org, or see me at the assembly.

In addition to e-mail, the other primary electronic communications tool in use is the Conference web page at

http://SacramentoConferenceELCA.org

The web page not only provides our local community with information about our activities, but informs a worldwide audience as well. It is important that significant events in your congregations be publicized, and I am always happy to provide the web site as one means of doing so. Please consider sending any notices for publication directly to me.

In addition, the web site carries the official Conference calendar, contact information for each congregation in the Conference and offers daily devotional readings. Bookmark it and check it frequently.

News Service

The Conference's news distribution service by e-mail is also used to distribute important information to all interested parties. It's open to anyone who wishes to subscribe. Details can be found on the Conference web page, or you may go directly to the news page at

http://SacramentoConferenceELCA.org/news

Every Congregation Has a Web Page

Even if your congregation doesn't yet have a web page, the Sacramento Conference can provide one at

http://Your-Congregation-Name.SacramentoConferenceELCA.org.

Contact me if you're interested.

Sacramento Lutheran Television

One of the most significant communications projects in the works is the establishment of Sacramento Lutheran Television. SLTV is planning original cable television programming for this fall and is seeking financial support from congregations and individuals in the area. A separate flyer is include in the assembly materials and detailed information is also available at the SLTV web site, http://SLTV.org/.

Respectfully submitted, Roger Linder
