WHAT?

An all-new, major outreach effort is underway in the greater Sacramento area. Local ELCA congregations will be broadcasting via cable television a weekly half-hour program which will follow a late night talk show format similar to The Tonight Show with Jay Leno or The Late Show with David Letterman.

Totally produced by local Lutherans, the fun-filled program "Lutherans ALIVE!" featuring humor, music, interviews and more with bring viewers a smile as Lutheran Christians reflect the joy of living for Jesus.

WHY?

Jesus said, "You shall be my witnesses..." Lutherans are not ones to proselytize nor coerce. Our lives are our witness. The invitation is extended. All are welcome to adopt a Christ-centered life. All are welcome to join us in worship.

HOW?

The light of Jesus Christ shines through as we thoroughly enjoy living for Him and it will be evident in this exciting show. Printed credits on the screen will include names and addresses of congregations sponsoring the program.

WHEN?

The first broadcast will be in September 2003 on the Religious Coalition of Cable TeleVision (RCCTV) Channel 19 out of Sacramento. The first five shows will be taped in August.

WHO?

International speaker and humorist Dixie Schneider (Advent, Citrus Heights), Christian music composer Roger Linder (Calvary, Rio Linda) and announcer extraordinaire Gary Olson (Advent, Citrus Heights) will take the lead each week. Program Director Bruce Lohse (American, Woodland) and Research Director Diane Lowe (Church of the Master, Sacramento) are working behind the scenes with their teams of volunteers on this exciting new outreach project endorsed by the ELCA Sacramento Conference.
