Report of the Conference Communicator - Spring 2002 Assembly

By: Roger Linder, Conference Communicator
Posted: Wednesday, May 1, 2002

As Conference Communicator, I am always seeking more effective ways of providing information on activities in the Conference to as wide an audience as possible. As a result, I have established a number of electronic communications services available to members of the Sacramento Conference.

The primary electronic communications tool in use is the Conference web page at

http://SacramentoConferenceELCA.org

The web page not only provides our local community with information about our activities, but informs a world-wide audience as well. It is important that significant events in your congregations be publicized, and I am always happy to provide the web site as one means of doing so. Please consider sending any notices for publication directly to me at

Communicator@SacramentoConferenceELCA.org

For ease in communicating with other officers of the Conference Cabinet, the following addresses are now available (all at @SacramentoConferenceELCA.org):

Dean Secretary.Treasurer Communicator Pastor.at.Large
Member.at.Large Ecumenical.Officer Synod.Council.Liason Bishops.Office.Liason
Gathering Leadership Outreach Service

In addition, congregations within the Conference may be reached at these addresses (all @SacramentoConferenceELCA.org):

Advent American *Atonement
Bethel.Roseville Bethel.Sacramento Calvary
Church.of.the.Cross Church.of.the.Master *Community
Davis *First.English Gethsemane
Gloria.Dei Good.Shepherd *Grace
Incarnation Lord.of.Life Our.Redeemer
St.Johns St.Lukes *St.Paul

Please note that congregations marked with an "*" have not identified an e-mail address. However, mail addressed to them will be forwarded to the Conference Communicator, who will forward it by other means to the intended congregation. Any assistance in identifying e-mail addresses for those congregations is sincerely appreciated.

Finally, a news distribution service by e-mail has been created, and is open to anyone who wishes to subscribe. Details can be found on the Conference web page, or you may go directly to the subscription page at

http://SacramentoConferenceELCA.org/news

This service will be used to send out periodic notices of significant events in the Sacramento Lutheran Community. Please pass this information on to members of your congregations that may be interested in what's going on in the Sacramento Conference.

The news is a service of the Sacramento Conference of the Sierra Pacific Synod, ELCA to all conference congregations, pastors, webmasters, council presidents, newsletter editors and interested visitors. Interested parties may subscribe to an e-mail delivery of the news.

News items of interest to other conference congregations should be forwarded to the Conference Communicator, Communicator@SacramentoConferenceELCA.org
